Express Pardons Bill C 10 Update
If you have been directed to this webpage* by Express Pardons then the Canadian Government Legislation changes will affect your application with Express Pardons.
You will be eligible for a Record Suspension in two or more years.
The Omnibus Crime Bill, or Bill C 10, makes changes to the Canadian Pardon system, changing the name from “Pardon” to “Record Suspension”, increasing the length of eligibility wait times and making those convicted of certain offences no longer eligible for a Record Suspension.
Fortunately, these changes only slightly affect your application for a Record Suspension. It does however drastically affect thousands of other people who are no longer eligible for a Record Suspension in the near future, and in some cases, ever.
During this transition from Pardons to Record Suspension, we would respectfully like to ask you to refrain from calling Express Pardons so that we can assist those whose applications are drastically affected by the legislation changes.
If you still have additional questions please email inquiries@pardonhelpdesk.ca. Please note we are responding to emails in order of priority, we trust you will understand any delays.
For more information regarding the legislations please check our blog and the Canadian Government website for additional updates.
